Outlaw Triathlon nearly full!
Created On: 17 September 2012
The Outlaw Triathlon is selling out rapidly. There are now less
than 100 places left for the big race on 7 July 2013 in
Nottingham.
The long distance triathlon, based at the National Water Sports
Centre in Nottingham, sees athletes cover a 2.4mile swim in the
regatta lake, 112mile bike ride around Nottinghamshire and a
26.2mile run around the lake and along the River Trent path.
Having won the 220 Triathlon Event of the Year Award twice and
the British Triathlon Event of the Year Award last year, the Outlaw
is selling at an unprecedented rate.
Organiser, Iain Hamilton said: "There are less than 100 places
left, but we do have charity places available through our partner,
Cancer Research UK."
"At the moment our race limit is 1100 athletes but we are
looking at some exciting plans for how we might be able to grow the
event. Whether that is for 2013 or for the future, we are not sure
at the moment, but there's a long-term commitment to making the
Outlaw bigger and better.
"We've been overwhelmed by the response this year, and the
support from previous athletes who have been encouraging others to
enter. 99.7% of competitors this year said they enjoyed the Outlaw,
so that's an excellent endorsement! We're really looking forward to
2013 already!"
