Milton Keynes to host first TriStar in the UK

Smith, will be on the start line of the TriStar111 Milton
Keynes
On the 29th July, two days after of the Olympic Opening Ceremony
and just 10 days before the Olympic triathlon at London 2012,
TriStar will hold its first event in Great Britain centrally
located in Milton Keynes, just a short journey north from the
English capital. Some well known British professional athletes will
start the competition at the Emberton Park Lake, such as
Ben Howard (TriStar Ambassador and 2010 World
Champion in the 20-24 Age Group) or Philip Graves
(Youngest ever Ironman Champion, winner of the TriStar Estonia
2010), Jason Watson amongst others favourites.
Also, Lucy Gossage (Ironman 70.3 Galway 2011
winner) is leading the female field.
TriStar races are also well known because attracts many VIPs and
professional athletes from other sports, as many Formula 1 drivers
normally participate in TriStar Monaco. In Milton Keynes we will be
able to see the swim-bike-run performance of one of the best Moto2
riders -English Bradley Smith will compete the
inaugural TriStar111 Milton Keynes.
The city of Milton Keynes promises a weekend of triathlon fun and
the picturesque scenery of the Emberton Country Park. Combining the
perfect infrastructure at the venues of the TriStar Milton Keynes
as well as involving the booming triathlon scene this sportive
region provides an option for everyone, in an hystoric moment for
the British sport with the Olympic Games.
More than 350 triathletes will be lined up on the start line on
the 29th of July for the inaugural TriStar Milton Keynes. The
centre point for the Tristar111 Milton Keynes will be Emberton
Park. The SWIM (1000m) will take place in the Emberton Park lake in
a single loop. The BIKE will lead the athletes in 3 loops on
undulating country roads, experiencing a wonderful countryside. The
10k RUN on the end will again take place in the Emberton Park so
that athletes and spectators can share a unique atmosphere on July
29. There will be also a TriStar33.3, and a Relay Challenge (over
the TriStar111 distance), ideal for beginners and experienced
triathletes who can now enjoy the new spirit of this well known fun
format which offers an easy recovery for the athletes.
It is being jointly organized by Star Events and Big Cow Events,
who have a great track record in developing British triathlon and

TIME BIKES TEST
During the race day, visitors of the TriStar Star&Co Expo
Village will have the great opportunity to test the newest bikes
from Time, one of the most successful cycling brands in Europe.
Time introduces its bikes and bike products for first time in the
world of triathlon, and becomes official partner of this race. More

HUUB WETSUITS TEST
TriStar Milton Keynes is proud to announce Huub Design as their
official Wetsuit Partner. On Saturday at 6pm, Huub will be
organising a wetsuit test in collaboration with the swim briefing
done by Mark Booth, the race director. On Sunday, the Huub wetsuits
will be available all day for testing. Plus Huub is offering a
special promotion during TriStar MK: for any wetsuit bought a free
Huub rucksack worth £70.
