First event in the Asics Off Road Race Series almost full

The first race in this year's Asics Off Road Race Series is now just under three weeks away and judging by demand, the final few spaces will be filled well before the entry closing date on Monday 14th November. The event, named IceMan, features a completely off-road Duathlon and two Trail Runs over distances of 11 kilometres and 16 kilometres. According to Georgina Rutherford, Operations Manager for organisers Human Race, it's the tough nature of the course that makes it such an appealing proposition for multisport athletes and off-road running enthusiasts. "All the races in the Asics Series are tough, and we've made some adaptations to the IceMan course to make it even more challenging than it was last year. The feedback we got from competitors was 'make it harder' so we have done. They might regret their bravado when they're half way round the bike leg and hit one of the more testing hills in the area!"
The event takes place at the Army Training Facility near Frimley in Surrey on Saturday the 19th of November. More info and how to enter the event can be found at www.humanrace.co.uk. Following IceMan the Asics Off Road Series heads over to Camberley for the MudMan on the 3rd of December then across to Godalming on the 21st of January for WildMan and Pippingford for the TuffMan on the 4th of February. The fifth and final event in the series is the TrailMan, a brand new addition for 2012 that sees the off-road madness descend upon Royal Tunbridge Wells on Saturday 10th March.
To celebrate their involvement in the event as sponsors and nutrition partners respectively, Asics and Lucozade are teaming up for a competition with some great prizes, including a free race entry into the IceMan event itself. The competition opens on Thursday the 3rd of November and details are available via Lucozade's Official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lucozadesportrunning
