In an evening aimed at celebrating a summer of memorable moments for British Triathlon, the Triathlete's World British Triathlon Club and Event of the Year have been recognised at the Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 13 November.

Crystal Palace Triathlon (pictured above) won the Triathlete's World British Triathlon Event of the Year award. The event is a regular fixture on the calendars of not only triathletes from London, but from around the country and is widely held as one of the most sustainable and environmentally friendly events in the UK.

John Petrides of Crystal Palace Triathlon Club commented after winning the award: It's fantastic, I had no idea. It goes to show that all the hard work put into organising the event has now been rewarded."

Environment has been key to winning the award, with John adding: "We have become carbon neutral and it has helped get more people involved in the sport and get sponsors involved as well."

BRAT (Birmingham Running and Triathlon) Club (pictured below) won the Triathlete's World British Triathlon Club of the Year award. BRAT is widely recognised as an inclusive club, which has provided high quality coaching to existing members. The club has also increased participation levels and opportunities for non-triathletes to be involved in this fast growing, modern and dynamic sport of triathlon, throughout the past 12 months.

A club spokesman commented upon receiving their award: It's fantastic, it's great to have such a great accolade, for all the work done in such a short space of time."
