Triathlon clubs and events celebrated at British Triathlon Annual Awards

In an evening aimed at celebrating a summer of memorable moments
for British Triathlon, the Triathlete's World British Triathlon
Club and Event of the Year have been recognised at the Annual
Awards Dinner on Saturday 13 November.
Crystal Palace Triathlon (pictured
above) won the Triathlete's World British Triathlon Event of
the Year award. The event is a regular fixture on the calendars of
not only triathletes from London, but from around the country and
is widely held as one of the most sustainable and environmentally
friendly events in the UK.
John Petrides of Crystal Palace Triathlon Club commented after
winning the award: It's fantastic, I had no idea. It goes to show
that all the hard work put into organising the event has now been

"We have become carbon neutral and it has helped get more people
involved in the sport and get sponsors involved as well."
BRAT (Birmingham Running and Triathlon) Club
(pictured below) won the Triathlete's World British Triathlon
Club of the Year award. BRAT is widely recognised as an inclusive
club, which has provided high quality coaching to existing members.
The club has also increased participation levels and opportunities
for non-triathletes to be involved in this fast growing, modern and
dynamic sport of triathlon, throughout the past 12 months.
A club spokesman commented upon receiving their award: It's
fantastic, it's great to have such a great accolade, for all the
work done in such a short space of time."
