Created On: 24 July 2010

Telemark Productions and The Castle Triathlon Series team alongside their UK events have been preparing for the third triathlon in the series taking place at the beautiful Chateau de Chantilly.

The Chateau de Chantilly Triathlon takes place over the English bank holiday weekend on Sunday 29th August 2010 and is the French leg of the Castle Triathlon Series. The historic town of Chantilly is only 2.5hrs drive from Calais and 40 miles North of Paris in the Picardie region.  Chantilly has all the ingredients for a truly fantastic race, the open water swim is in the stunning Grand Canal with transition taking place within the 'Terrace de Constables'. The cycle for the two longer adult races will take place around a 20k circuit through the Foret de Chantilly an area of outstanding natural beauty and finally the run will circumnavigate the Parc de Sylvie on the Chateau de Chantilly estate for a challenging but beautiful final leg of the triathlon.

Talking about the race, Brian Adcock, Telemark Productions Managing Director and Race Director for the Castle Triathlon Series, said "We are delighted to be delivering a French leg of The Castle Triathlon Series. Not only is it a fantastic venue, but it is also an opportunity to showcase talent from around Europe as well as encourage competitors of all levels and ages from the UK to compete somewhere  different."

"The Chateau de Chantilly Triathlon has a number of races to cater for all ages and levels of ability, and all of them can be undertaken as an individual or as part of a relay team (i.e. one person swims, the other cycles and another runs).  In addition, and an element we are very excited about, are the races for children aged between 8 - 15yrs. The children's races at the other triathlons in the series have been extremely popular and a huge success. The day is set up so that Mum and Dad can race in the morning and the kids can race in the afternoon, a brilliant day out for all the family. The children's races are run completely within the grounds on closed estate roads and tracks suitable for mountain bikes.
