Carterton Leisure Centre Broadshires Way,
I really enjoyed the event and will do again, lovely weather, decent and fast-ish courses for bike and run, lots of enthusiasm from the organisers and marshalls, quick results, free massage, ice-cream van and first aid but a few tweaks would make this event EXCELLENT.
1) Have your swim lengths counted for you. Counting yourself can be a real pain and open to error, especially as there seemed to be an obundance of marshalls.
2) I heard a few people got confused coming back to transition after 2nd lap and started following run arrows instead of the bike arrows.
3) Probably the most important - Transition security was almost nil. I never once had to show my race number or verify who i was and what i was taking was indeed mine. Triathlon gear is expensive and should be protected.
As a first timer at triathlons very good haven't competed for 24 years but thoroughly enjoyed the event
