IRONMAN 70.3 UK to open 50 last minute places
Created On: 14 May 2012
IRONMAN 70.3 UK organisers have announced that they are to
release 50 places into the closed IRONMAN 70.3 UK on a first come
first served basis. The additional places have become available due
to some changes made to the setup at the venue which has freed up
more space and the introduction of a 2 wave start allowing for the
50 additional entries. These places will go very quickly so if you
want to be racing in Exmoor on 17th June you should
enter now.
2,000 athletes are entered IRONMAN 70.3 UK, which takes place on
Sunday 17th June in the beautiful Exmoor
countryside. The swim starts in Wimbleball Lake, followed by
a challenging 56 mile bike course, and a half-marathon around
Wimbleball Lake to finish.
Kevin Stewart, Managing Director of IRONMAN UK and Ireland said:
"We have been looking at the set up for all of the IRONMAN events
to ensure that the athlete has the best possible experience and we
are pleased we will be able to allow 50 additional athletes the
opportunity to race in one of the most iconic races in the UK" he
continues, "We also have an exciting Pro field with both defending
champions returning and we will also be welcoming back Bella
Bayliss who will be hoping to complete a family double with husband
Stephen."
