Specialist triathlon camp at La Manga Club

Competitors in Britain's three largest triathlons will have no excuse for being under prepared following the launch of dedicated warm-weather training camps for each event at the five-star La Manga Club.
Organised in association with London-based specialist Fitness 12 Retreats, a company owned by celebrity and professional sports trainer Steve Halsall, the four-day breaks offer the perfect way for triathletes to ensure they're in peak condition on the big day.
While aimed at those competing in the Windsor, Blenheim and London triathlons, the retreats will benefit anyone looking to improve their performance in the endurance event through a mixture of expert tuition, co-ordinated recovery sessions and sports nutrition.
Ralph Hydes - the London Triathlon's official trainer, who has represented Great Britain in eight world championships and worked with athletes of all abilities, from novices to age-group internationals - will be leading two of the exclusive breaks, while the third will be headed up by Fitness12 expert Andy Brodziak, who has represented both Great Britain and South Africa in triathlon as well as coaching numerous Olympic and Commonwealth athletes.
Hydes will focus on improving guests' skills in various areas to take their training to the next level, including: learning how to do transitions as fast as elite athletes; developing cycling skills of ascending, descending, cornering and efficiency; improving running speed; and the correct way to warm up and stretch to maximise performance.
Retreats start from just £495 per person and include four days' training with expert professional coaches; three days' accommodation; technical swim, bike and run sessions, with guided rides through the challenging and scenic Portman Hills; recovery sessions; sports nutrition advice; a daily breakfast; and guests' transfers from Murcia airport.
Those looking to leave nothing to chance in their preparation can book the Carbon Pro package to upgrade their accommodation to the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe, as well as receiving full gym access; specialist ZIPVIT sport nutrition programmes; full technical and mechanical support in bike set up; demonstrations of key core training techniques; hydrotherapy as part of recovery sessions; and a ZIPVIT goodie bag and Fitness 12 TRI 2XU racing vest and swimming hat.
The Carbon Pro package costs £1,200 per person and also features daily lunch with the F12 team provided by a personal chef; dinners in the resort's top restaurants; private transfers from Murcia with bikes; and transfers to airport shuttle trains from within London.
Halsall, who will attend every camp, is known in the industry as 'The Body Whisperer', and has a significant pedigree, having written for publications including Grazia, Men's Health, Health and Fitness, Men's Fitness and the Daily Mirror.
Fitness 12 retreats provide guests with a personal post-event training programme, running right up to their big event, to ensure each participant gains the maximum future benefit.
