Places still available for Silverstone Duathlon
Created On: 13 July 2011
There may be just one day to go, but places are still available
for race three of the USN Votwo Duathlon Series at Silverstone this
Thursday.
Taking place on the actual Formula One racing circuit used in
last Sunday's British Grand Prix, the duathlon is expected to have
a field of 150 athletes.
Race headquarters will be based at the new Porsche Driving
Experience centre, with the event consisting of a two-mile run,
10-mile bike ride and further two-mile run.
Event organiser Ben Mason said: "The fact that we're using the
Grand Prix circuit, just days after the British Grand Prix on
Sunday, is fantastic. We're using the same circuit for the race,
and it's going to be a great occasion.
"The course is traffic free, fast and exciting, cycling around
the Formula One racetrack is a great boost for athletes.
"The venue is ideal for spectators too, and I'm sure there will
be plenty of people cheering on friends and family."
Entry cost is £25, with teams allowed to enter for £35. Online
entries close the day before the race, with entries taken on the
night costing a further £2. The action gets under way at 7pm. For
further information, check out www.votwo.co.uk
If you can't make it on tomorrow, there's one more chance to
race at this iconic venue in Race Four of the series on Monday, 2
August.
