Molloy seals Dorney Lake victory

Matt Molloy stormed to victory at the USN Votwo Dorney Lake
Triathlon on Sunday.
Veteran Molloy, of Bike and Run, blitzed his rivals to claim
first place in an impressive 1:58:07, earning a winning margin of
3:07 over second-placed Michael Milstead, of Moti-Giant. Molloy's
times featured a 20:37 swim, 57:58 bike and 37:31 run.
Votwo/USN team member Eliot Chalifour was in fine form, claiming
third place in 2:01:38 to cap a memorable day for everyone
connected with Votwo Events.
Paula Robinson, of Gears and Tears, was the first female
finisher, coming home in 2:25:57.
The sprint distance event was won by Gareth Evans, of Larkfield
AC, in 1:01:23, while the super sprint distance crown was claimed
by Iain Hissett in 40:09. Faye McClelland was the first female home
in the sprint (1:14:17), with Fiona Brown winning the super sprint
female category (42:38).
There was a healthy turnout of competitors for the super sprint
race (450m/10km/2.5km), sprint race (750m/20km/5km) and standard
distance race (1.5km/40km/10km), all run around a traffic-free
course in beautiful, warm conditions. In all, 170 triathletes
finished the standard distance race, with 500 competitors in action
overall.
Event organiser Ben Mason said: "It went incredibly well. The
weather was great, and we were delighted to have 500 entries. It
really was a memorable day, absolutely superb.
"Everything just went really smoothly on the day. I was pleased
for Eliot. He races an awful lot and did well."
The next race in the USN Votwo Triathlon Series is at Padstow on
