Race Report: Dirty Dozen MTB Enduro and Roses Round Sportive

It was an epic weekend of cycling at Tosside, near Skipton on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, with the Dirty Dozen MTB Enduro taking place on Saturday June 11 and the Roses Round Sportive on Sunday June 12.
80 solo riders, pairs and teams leapt at the chance to check out the renovated tracks and trails in Gisburn Forest as they took part in the 12hour Enduro in glorious sunshine.
A team from Hope Factory Racing took top honours with an impressive 21 laps of the 8mile course, completed in 12:25:17, just 30 seconds ahead of the team in second place.

In the pairs competition Team JMC/Ragley managed 22 laps in 12:05:28. Finally in the solo event, Phil Simcock of Team JMC and Emily Hulley of Manchester Mountain Bikers emerged victorious with 19 laps in 11:53:20 and 12 laps in 11:48:37 respectively.
Sunday saw over 200 riders line up to tackle the Roses Round course, a 75mile undulating loop that took them through the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire. There was also a shorter course of 35miles that took riders along the county border.
As the weather took a turn for the worse, riders gratefully crammed into the local pub, the Dog and Partridge for post-ride refreshments. Epic Events offer a big 'well done' to all those that took part and are looking forward to building next year's event up with a great festival atmosphere.
