Outlaw training days still available

There are still three months to go until the Outlaw, plenty of time to get into a consistent routine of steady training, and plenty of time to find team mates for a relay! And, if you're nervous about your preparation, be reassured that there are still places on the Outlaw training day on 14 May at Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre. One finisher from 2010, Susan Potter, would certainly recommend it!

Suffolk grandmother, Susan Potter, completed the 3800m swim, 112mile bike ride and marathon run in an impressive 15hours and 4minutes. Finishing the Outlaw was the culmination of six months of hard training, and a team effort from her family.
She said: "I won't ever be doing another Ironman distance race as this first attempt was SO special that it sits in a special place in my mind, and it makes me feel good whenever I think about it! No other race could come close, so it's best left where it is; an amazing day."

Part of her preparation was the Outlaw training day last May. She added: "I got left behind gasping for breath when we all got into the freezing cold lake! But when others started to panic in the water on race day I felt prepared."
"I remember then dreaming then about completing the Outlaw, and that training day helped me focus and believe in my dream and make it a reality."
Everything went right for Potter on race day. She recalls: "In the final mile I tried to speed up, at last hitting the finishing chute, and with spongy matting under foot, I experienced that surge of adrenaline - enough to motivate a sprint finish."
"I'm laughing, crying and waving my arms in the air, crossing the line a little over fifteen hours after starting this amazing journey and feeling overwhelming joy as the crowd cheer, 'You are an Outlaw!'"
