Registrations Flooding in for the 2011 Castle Triathlon Series

Since the December launch of the 2011 race dates over 500 competitors have already registered for the Castle Triathlon Series. The fourth event which is now in its third year, the Hever Castle Triathlon, is set to be the third largest triathlon event and the biggest children's event in the country.
Race Director, Brian Adcock comments; "This year is likely to the best since we launched, the momentum is really up with a cross section of participants entering the increased range of race formats available at each venue. We've seen the biggest elite registration since opening and are getting the critical club support on which the Series thrives. We are also delighted with the number of newcomers to the sport entering for the first time."
"With such a good response to the introduction of children's races across the series the atmosphere is set to be like a family festival with a race tailored for everyone. We're expecting a great series of events, where idyllic surroundings meet outstanding sporting activity."
Momentum is also building with sponsors and charities coming on board; Shock Absorber, Power Bar, Cherry Active and Wildside are among the leading brands that have just signed up to have a presence at the weekend and evening events.
The Castle Triathlon Series comprises of four exciting weekend races and a midweek evening sprint series over the course of the summer. Each offers a high quality, competitive and safe race set in beautiful grounds and truly spectacular surroundings. Very few races in the country offer such a stunning and motivational race setting, testament to the 4,000 who took part in 2010.
This year, by popular demand, the Castle Triathlon Series will offer an official Olympic distance race at each venue giving triathletes and teams the choice of three distances. The children's races are expected to go from strength to strength with a predicted field of over 1,000 children at the Hever Castle Triathlon alone.
Furthermore, the event organisers have introduced an Evening Sprint Triathlon Series at Hever Castle to this year's schedule, following triathletes demand and recognition of the venues prime location.
Participants range from elite stars, to first timers and children (aged 8 to 15 years old). The event has huge appeal to families who want to enjoy a fun and safe event together. Last year saw the recently titled World Amateur Triathlon Champions, Jill Parker and Colin Dixon win the respective elite race at Hever Castle and an increasing number of elite athletes are expected to compete for the considerable prize money on offer across the 2011 Series.
Triathletes are encouraged to raise money for the chosen national charity 'Help for Heroes' and for different local charities at each venue.
