2011 Castle Triathlon Series Dates Announced

The 2011 race dates for the Castle Triathlon Series have been announced this week. The series is set to be the third largest triathlon event and the biggest children's event in the country.

The Castle Triathlon Series comprises of four exciting weekend events and a midweek evening sprint series over the course of the summer. Each race offers a high quality, competitive and safe race set in beautiful grounds and truly spectacular surroundings. Very few races in the country offer such a stunning and motivational race setting, testament to the 4,000 taking part in 2010.

This year by popular demand the Castle Triathlon Series will offer an official Olympic distance race at each venue giving triathletes and teams the choice of three distances. The children's races are expected to go from strength to strength with a predicted field of over 1,000 children at Hever Castle alone.

Furthermore, the event organisers have introduced an Evening Sprint Triathlon Series at Hever Castle to this year's schedule, following triathletes demand and recognition of the venues prime location.

Race Director, Brian Adcock comments; "There are very few triathlons that offer such stunning surroundings and a professional and caring event. We were particularly impressed with the standard of the elite racers, along with the strong entries and interest from children and families this year.

"The Castle Series is really going places and we are looking forward to building on it with the introduction of the Evening Sprint Series to the 2011 programme."

Participants range from elite stars, to first timers and children (aged 8 to 15 years old). The event has huge appeal to families who want to enjoy a fun and safe event together. Last year saw the recently titled World Amateur Triathlon Champions, Jill Parker and Colin Dixon win the respective elite race at Hever Castle and an increasing number of elite athletes are expected to compete for the considerable prize money on offer across the 2011 Series.

Triathletes are encouraged to raise money for the chosen national charity 'Help for Heroes' and for different local charities at each venue while enjoying a professional triathlon in the most stunning surroundings.
