The Fridge Man defeats the Cowman!

Rob Creighton the 'Fridge Half Ironman' yesterday (4th July) took on and completed the Cowman Half Iron distance event complete with his 35kg fridge. Rob managed to cross the line in an amazing time of 7:29:04, a time many would be happy with if competing in an event of this distance without a fridge!

He swam the 1.9 km with his dinghy in tow in 42:32, then took to the bike with his trailer attached and managed to complete the very windy 92 km in 3:37:19 averaging almost 16mph. Finally he took to the half marathon which he confidently finished in 3:04:13.
Rob received amazing support from everyone at the event and many people including friends from the armed forces who completed the last few laps of the run with him to encourage him to the line.

After he crossed the finish line Rob was asked why he wanted to take on this challenge and he commented "it's the least I can do, to put with a few hours of pain to support all the fantastic men and women in the armed forces and the Help for Heroes charity".
Rob has managed to raise well over £3000 for the Help for Heroes Charity.
Huge congratulations to Rob for such a massive accomplishment!
